Travels

Our family has been spreading it wings. Today Michelle has returned  from a month away in Australia. She met up with sister Suzie and partner Ray and they had a great time travelling about in a camper van. Can't wait to hear all about it. Fred was very envious but he will have to make do with our trip to the New Forest in our camper on Thursday which we are very much looking forward to.We will be able to go for a swim, sauna etc and eat out at the local Inn.  It is such a lovely part of the UK.  I never get tired of it although I haven't been for some time. Plus don't laugh my BUS PASS arrived on Saturday so we will be able to go into Bournmouth for some retail shopping.  So what Fred thinks we have saved on the bus fare might not be as much as he had thought...mm
Natasha and Yasmin have just come back from  a sking in Bulgeria. Not as much snow as Norway last year but they had a great ski group and have some amazing photos. Yasmin is going on a school trip to France this year too.

Pretty blue bedroom

Yesterday my other half had painted the walls in our bedroom Blue and today with the sunshine pouring in the windows it looks very pretty.  It is a shaker style bedroom with a seaside feel about it. We have shutters at the window which give it that extra bit of style. I have a lovely patchwork quilted throw at the bottom of the bed which has come in very useful during our cold spell.

I am going to go and make a nice pot of vegetable soup now so that when Fred comes back from his bike ride. So that should warm him up.  We are not having traditional Sunday lunch today as we have well eaten too much the last few days so after the soup we will have a Salad.
Back to work tomorrow and hopeing we will be busy busy busy....

Cold Cold and more cold brrrrr

We are haveing a very cold spell, colder than it has ever been for 100 years!!
Out have come the hotwater bottles, bed socks aswell as all the scarves hats and gloves. The kids love it and Yasmin is out playing snowballs with Ross in the garden.

I have been down the hill to have lunch with my sister and I used my walking stick to make sure I didn't fall over. We have both had bad colds which have left us with annoying coughs.  Unfortunatly she has coughed and put her back out which is now giving her more problems than the cough, she can hardly move poor thing.
The only thing I like about this kind of weather cosy nights in and making soup, rice pudding, mince pies and casseroles. Thing is we can't get to the gym at the moment so feeling a little stuffed and need more exercise..

New Year already and I shall be glad to see the back of 2009 but very much look forward to 2010 hoping it brings good health and happiness to all. We are not going out to celebrate the new year as I have a bad cold and OH has had to work all day and so it is a quiet night in, Cabanara and a bottle of Champagne to toast each other at midnight.
Having been stuck in for a few days I did venture out to the Kingston Center today.  It was very busy so after getting a few bits in M & S I returned home but not before I called in to see Anita and Dave.  Anita is unwel too and we have no idea where we got this cold from.  I have managed to get the footage of the girls and Luigi dancing xmas night on to You Tube.... it is so funny,  I laugh every time I see it and you can hear me laughing loudly in the background!!   Louise and Luigi  having a party tonight, we were invited but declined.   I did my party piece on Christmas Eve apparently and had a really  good time doing it and tonight I leave the partying to our youngsters... I wonder what this year will bring..

Family away at Christmas for the first time

We went away to a Hotel by the sea for the Christmas break, Three days in all. Their were 14 of us in all including the twins Ashlee and Sienna. It was like home from home and they made us feel very welcome. We had our own spot by the fire and a Christmas tree with all our presents at the bottom. Keeley left a mince pie and a carrot for Santa and his Reindeer.

We all helped with the babies who are 17 months now. After Christmas lunch I played with them down stairs while every body went for a nap. They were as good as gold although Sienna can burst into tears for no reason but when you walk around with her for a bit she stops as quick as she started.
There was a Swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi and steam room which we enjoyed on Boxing day. We also walked down to the beach for a breath of fresh air and much to our delight there was a Piper playing his bag pipes, it was quite magical. We think he was practicing for New Year celebrations.
I have come home with a chesty cold but the weather is miserable so I am happy to stay in the warm.

I have been packing my suitcase today ready for my 3 day break with youngest daughter Louise. We are going to Spain on Monday to a relaxing Hotel in Estapona. I have been at home on my own a lot of late so I am looking forward to Louise's company. We always have a laugh. I am going to have to wear my white compression stockings for the flight so that should cause some giggles also I can only do stairs one at a time. I have had a partial knee replacement so I am making sure I do the exercises that Physio have given me so that I can become more mobile as soon as poss.

Good Friday was a great Friday

We had a surprise visit from our Son and family, aren't the twins growing! They were on there way back from a farm where they were able to hold newborn lambs and see baby pigs. Keely had her face painted too. Natasha and Yasmin called in as well so that made it a really Good Friday for Fred and I..
